Being a pet owner is often all about interpreting just what it is that your furry wee friend is trying to tell you.
I have one cat who likes to wake me in the middle of the night by hitting me on the nose. If I wake up and she is sitting on top of me while poking my nose, that generally means "my food bowl is empty, the sky is falling in, feed me" but if she happens to be sitting beside me, that usually means "I'm lonely so perform your pet ownerly duties and scratch behind my ear as I go back to sleep".
However, there is no doubting exactly what this cat wants: let me in!
