Stags player of the year

Not an easy one to pick this year from a team which hasn't really been able to build any great momentum.

Maybe things will change if the Stags can do the unlikely and knock Counties Manukau over in tomorrow's semifinal.

But as things stand now, who would be your player of the year from the Southland team.

It's hard to go past Tim Boys, even if he did get off to a false start due to injury.

We understand Boys has been turning in the sort of tackle counts we saw early in his career with the Stags spending so much time on defence.

He's been a worker and will deservedly make a return to Super Rugby with the Highlanders next season.

Are there any challengers to Boys? Tim Cornforth? Scott Eade's goal kicking?  Elliot Dixon?
