The Southern Steel's Jhaniele Fowler-Reid will undergo fitness testing later in the week before a decision is made on her availability for Saturday's game against the Melbourne Vixens.
Fowler-Reid sprained her left knee during the first quarter of Sunday's win over the Tactix and is managing the injury with Steel physio Corina Ngatuere.
Te Paea Selby-Rickit, who shot 27 from 32 as Fowler-Reid's replacement in the 64-60 win over the Tactix, will start if the Jamaican international does not recover in time.
Fowler-Reid (488 goals) trails the Tactix' Malawi import Mwai Kumwenda (498) by 10 goals as the leading shooter in the competition, and her 94 per cent accuracy is second only to Mystics shooter Cathrine Latu (94.1 per cent).
She is also the third-best rebounder in the trans-Tasman competition this season.
Steel complete the regular season against the league-leading Vixens in Invercargill on Saturday afternoon.
