Hokonui and Southern A were convincing winners in the weekend's round of Southland women's premier-grade hockey.
Competition games returned after the Queen's Birthday Weekend break with contests that featured strong attacking play.
Hokonui won 7-0 against Falls' Bistro Mataura in wet conditions in Gore.
The home team dominated play early, running in four first-half goals.
Coach Judy White highlighted Pippa McKinnel and Sonia Stewart as standout players.
White has been pleased with the team's effort this season.
"They're not at the top but they're playing nice hockey," she said.
Southern A showed their Southern Masters counterparts no mercy with a 6-1 win in Invercargill.
Coach Geoff Jenkins was pleased with the strong Southern A attack throughout the contest.
"We had good success from our penalty corners, which was pleasing."
He said midfielder Stacey Allan was a key contributor to the win.
The lowest-scoring game of the round didn't reflect the strong attacking play that featured in three women's games.
Riversdale beat SIT/Collegiate 3-1 in a contest that featured plenty of shots on goal.
