Midweek games accommodate second test

This week's Southland club rugby action will be spread over three days, with many clubs opting to play midweek to allow people the chance to travel to Dunedin early on Saturday for the All Blacks-England test.

The premier-division one crossover match between Pirates-Old Boys and Waikiwi is scheduled for tonight at Rugby Park.

Tomorrow night, Rugby Park will host the Woodlands-Blues game at 6pm followed by another premier game between Star and the Eastern Northern Barbarians, starting at 7.30pm.

Six of the seven division games will still be played on Saturday, although some with earlier start times. The only scheduled division one midweek fixture will be tonight where Edendale and Pioneer meet at the Gore Showgrounds.

The Pirates-Old Boys and Woodlands division two game will be played at 6pm at Rugby Park tonight with all other games to be played on Saturday.

The James Hargest College-Menzies College Highlanders First XV competition game was played yesterday but the six other fixtures are still set for Saturday.
