Invercargill's Rugby Park will be a hive of activity on Saturday afternoon with more action than originally scheduled.
Both division one and division two rugby grand finals will be staged at the city ground because of the unsuitability of the Bluff playing field for the home team's clash with Wyndham in the division one showdown.
Rugby Park was always going to be the venue for the division two final, which gets under way at 1pm with the division one final scheduled for 3pm.
John Pfeifer will referee the division two final, and Andrew Rowlands will control the division one clash.
Rugby Southland community rugby manager Don McFarlane and referee education officer Kirk Rae inspected the Foyle St ground in Bluff yesterday afternoon with Bluff Rugby Club president Shane Pearcey and had no hesitation ruling it out because of recent extremely wet weather and further deterioration after the presidents grade final last Saturday.
Bluff and Wyndham will be meeting in a grand final for the second time in two years. Bluff hosted and beat Wyndham convincingly in the 2012 division two final.
The fact the teams have graduated to the top of division one in only two years is a talking point and will add spice to Saturday's grand final.
