Otago Country continued their push to advance from the southern zone of the Hawke Cup after picking up first-innings points against Mid Canterbury in Alexandra at the weekend.
Otago Country posted 372 all out in their first innings, with Brayden Hill top-scoring with 112. James Pyle made 92, while Fraser Wilson and tailender Ronnie Kotkamp both scored 42.
Bevan Ravenscroft was the chief destroyer for Mid Canterbury, taking four for 88 off 23 overs, while Richard Print grabbed three for 88.
In reply, Mid Canterbury were dismissed for 292, with Des Kruger (74), Jeff Naish (67) and Bo Houston (64) among the runs. Otago Country's next Hawke Cup fixture is against Southland at Queens Park in Invercargill this week-end.
