Expressions of interest in the Sharks basketball head coaching job close tomorrow.
The Sharks opted to advertise the position held by foundation coach Richard Dickel after a disappointing season in the velodrome, where they missed the playoffs for the first time in their three-year existence.
Sharks general manager Jill Bolger said yesterday the organisation had made a decision not to discuss publicly the finer details of the coaching appointment process, including how many people had applied.
The shortlisting process will begin later this month, followed by interviews, with an appointment scheduled to be made soon after, she said.
Dickel was non-committal when asked about his intentions yesterday, but it would be a surprise if he did not reapply for a job that he remains passionate about.
The Southland under-13 boys and girls teams have returned from Nelson after mid-table finishes.
The boys team finished ninth in a 15-team competition, while the girls were eighth from 14 teams.
Those results were considered promising, with several of the players eligible for the same teams again next year.
Southland under-15 boys and girls teams started their tournaments in Nelson yesterday and finish tomorrow.
