New Zealand road champion James Williamson is a welcome addition to the H&Js Outdoor World cycling team for the fifth round of the Benchmark Series in Timaru on Sunday.

The Alexandra rider will race beside Pieter Bulling, Matthew Zenovich, Brehan Cairns and Liam Aitcheson, but the Southland team will be without Cam Karwowski after the latter only recently returned to New Zealand after riding with the BikeNZ under 23 development squad in Belgium.

Fellow Alexandra riders Tom Vessey and Williamson's sister Sophie were also unavailable due to their commitments with the New Zealand team for the world junior road championships in the Netherlands.

Alex Neems was also unavailable after breaking her elbow recently.

Otago rider Alysha Keith, a New Zealand representative at the world junior track championships in Invercargill and who was recently named in the New Zealand elite team for the Oceania championships, is a new addition in the women's team along with Sequoia Cooper and Georgia Timpany.
