Southland Stags team mates and builders from around the Winton community are today pitching in to help get Tim Boys' house enclosed.

Boys and his wife Kara were left shattered when they found out CS Homes - the company building their new house near Winton - had gone into voluntary liquidation midway through the build.

The house was not completed and the Stags and Highlanders flankers was left wondering what next.

Boys said the support from the Southland public, and in particular those in Winton, that have rallied behind them to help out was ''unreal''.

Today 12 qualified builders from around Winton - led by Ben McHugh - gathered to get the house enclosed for Boys.

His Stags team mates joined in as helpers for today with the hope the working bee will have everything sorted by tomorrow afternoon.

''We're just getting everything wrapped up so it's enclosed in and no weather can get into it or anything, so we can have it sorted over Christmas. We'd sort of been left in the lurch a bit and we needed to get it enclosed in,'' Boys said.

McHugh will then take up the contract to get the house completed, hopefully by April next year when it was originally suppose to be finished by CS Homes.
