James Hargest College pupil Sam Miller blasted his way around the Tisbury circuit in the latest round of Cycling Southland's Wednesday Worlds.

The Wensley's-sponsored series saw the 14-year-old complete the one-lap race in a scorching 29min 07sec, more than five minutes faster than second-placed Taz O'Connor, with Phil Culling third.

Miller's time startled the timekeeper so much he didn't manage to register a time for the other divisions.

Brehan Cairns, coming off his 21st birthday, won the A grade race from Josh Haggerty and Matt Zenovich, while Shane Fletcher won the B grade race from Aaron Sinclair and Dave Beadle.

Grant Colbran won the C grade race from Daryl Haggerty and Ian Ballam.
