Various Southland age-group cricket teams took on Otago Country in games in Invercargill on Sunday, which included some positive results.
The Southland under-15 A team had a good win over its Otago country opponents on the back of a good batting display which included Ethan Molloy posting his first half-century playing for Southland.
They racked up 208 batting first before Alex Tait and Sean Duff picked up three wickets apiece to help bowl Otago Country out for just 76.
The other win come from the Southland year 5 and 6 team, which bowled Otago Country out for 48 and chased it down with the loss of three wickets.
The big test for many of the Southland age-group representative teams will be this Sunday when they take on Dunedin Metro teams in Dunedin. RESULTS
