The victorious Southland Boys' High School First XV team marched into the Highlanders-wide first XV rugby final in impressive fashion on Saturday.
Southland Boys' ran out comfortable 57-14 winners over Dunstan High School in one semifinal.
They will now eye a final against Otago Boys' High School this weekend after they were just as impressive in their 37-0 semifinal win over Kings High, in Dunedin at the weekend.
The decider will be played in Dunedin and is looming as a cracker with Otago Boys' taking the honours 12-10 when they met earlier in the season.
Southland Boys' High School will head into the final with some confidence after they were missing a couple of key players in the round-robin loss to Otago Boys'.
The winner of the Highlanders-wide competition will play the winner of the Crusaders regional competition, Marlborough Boys' College, in the South Island final.
Marlborough Boys' beat Nelson College 15-11 in Blenheim on Saturday.
They are only the fourth school to take the honours in the cup's 13-year history.
In other Highlanders first XV games, Menzies College beat Waitaki Boys' High School 18-15; St Kevin's beat St Peter's 15-12; Mount Aspiring beat James Hargest 29-20; and Gore High School beat Verdon College 46-8.
