Members of the Canadian high performance ski team took a break from training at Snow Farm to try their hand at go-karting at the Highlands Motorsport Park in Cromwell.
The team are in New Zealand for almost three weeks of training during the off- season in Canada. Cross-country skier Harvey said the team was putting in as much training as it could before members returned to Canada to start intensive training in November for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, which start in February.
New Zealand was the country of choice because "there's not much snow anywhere else, " Harvey said.
"It's good snow. It's similar to what we see in Europe, " he said.
Most the of team members train in New Zealand in the off-season with this being Harvey's seventh year.
He enjoys being based around Wanaka as the team could train on the snow in the morning then run around Lake Wanaka in the afternoon.
