The Volts opening match in the group stage of the Champions League cricket competition has been abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The Volts were set to play the John Wright coached Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad. Heavy rain fell just after the toss in the early game between the Perth Scorchers and Highveld Lions, the ground went under water and all prospect of play in either game was lost.
The no results mean that the four teams scheduled to play today all take two points each.
The Volts next match is against the Perth Scorchers in Jaipur tomorrow night.
Jaipur is also the venue for the Volts remaining games in pool play against the Highveld Lions and Rajasthan Royals.
The top two teams from the pool progress to the semi finals.
