Otago prop Scott Manson is free to play against Southland in Saturday's Donald Stuart Memorial Trophy game after fronting the judiciary.
Manson was cited for stamping following an incident against Manawatu in Dunedin last Friday, but has received only an off-field yellow card following a video conference judicial hearing yesterday.
Judicial Officer Roger Drummond heard submissions from the player and his representative, and found that while there was foul play and the citing was upheld, it was at the low end and that a period of suspension would outweigh the level of offending.
In deciding to issue the off-field yellow card, Drummond also took into account the player's good record and his conduct at the hearing.
