Netball South has a strong representation in the 2014 national umpire squads announced by Netball New Zealand.
Jono Bredin, Bobbi Brown and Kristie Simpson have retained their places in the elite ANZ Championship squad, while Marise Stuart features in the NZA and ANZ Championship Tier 4 group.
Queenstown's Sasha McLeod is one of six new faces in the New Zealand development squad, joining Alannah Robinson from Eastern Southland, while Joyce Andrew is in the emerging talent group.
Netball South match official development officer Colleen Bond and fellow Eastern Southland umpire Alison Cormack continue their respective roles as lead coaches for the ANZ Championship umpires.
Overall, eight umpires have been promoted into the national squads while others have cemented their positions through their performances over the season.
