Rugby Southland has named its womens sevens squad for this year's national sevens campaign.
The squad includes several members from last year's team, including 2013 Southland sevens player of the year Courtney O'Callaghan and Southland secondary schools player of the year Laura Buckingham, along with some new faces headed by talented netballer Hayley Crofts.
The Southland mens squad will be confirmed next week after availability of several key players is confirmed following the naming of Super Rugby squads this week.
Meanwhile, the BNZ Condor Sevens Southland regional qualifier will be hed at Les George Oval on Saturday.
The winning boys school will join Southland Girls' High School, default winners after Central Southland College pulled out, as Southland's representatives at the national finals at Kelston Boys from November 30 to December 1.
