Early birds get Steel tickets
Southern Steel netball fans braved the wind and rain overnight to book their spots in the rebuilt Stadium Southland for next season.
Lochiel friends Pauline Gillan and Bronwyn Queale started queuing at the stadium at 11.30pm on Saturday to make sure they were at the front of the line when the season memberships went on sale from 9am today.
It was a wet, cold wait for the pair, who eventually were forced back into a car where they watched the front door like hawks to make sure that no one grabbed their spots.
Tired and hungry after their overnight vigil, they were rapt to secure seven prime seats near the halfway mark in the Ray Harper Stand.
