Jason Scott won the South Island Sprintcar Championship for the fourth time and held his lead in the War of Wings Series at Riverside Speedway, near Invercargill, at the weekend.

Scott, of Queenstown, was elated to make it four straight championship wins on Friday night.

"I'm bloody rapt," he said.

"We had a game plan. There's been a lot of time and preparation gone into this."

Round seven of the War of Wings Series was held at the Riverside Speedway on Saturday night. Scott finished fifth, but still leads the series with 570 points.

Christchurch's Ray Baughan moved to second (495 points) by winning the seventh round on Saturday night, showing his delight by doing several doughnuts after the finish.

"I had a good run in the heats and it was a big advantage being off the front in the final," Baughan said.

"Last night, I was off grid four and it was too tough, you couldn't pass."

The eighth of the 10-round War of Wings Series is at Beachlands Speedway, Dunedin, on February 15.
