Plenty of great racing and the treat of seeing and hearing a 1994 Formula 1 Ferrari 412 T1B 043 V12 on the track were the highlights of the Classic SpeedFest at Teretonga Park at the weekend.

The Ferrari, brought to New Zealand by a group of enthusiasts headed by Steve Weeber of Christchurch, did several demonstration laps on both Saturday and yesterday with Robert Borrius Broek at the wheel.

The car created massive interest both on the track and in the pits, where it was displayed alongside a three-seater F1 Arrows AX3 belonging to the same group.

Racing in the Evolution Motorsport-sponsored meeting was close on both days, with winning margins in many of the races extremely close.

Many drivers stamped their mark on their classes on Saturday but some attrition and handicap starts in yesterday's races threw up plenty of different winners.

The next meeting at Teretonga Park is on March 16.
