Horses are the focus of the latest swap meet attracting attention in Timaru.
The Carriage, Harness and Driving Club of South Canterbury hosted its first equestrian swap meet at the Phar Lap Raceway yesterday. Plans to make it a regular event are now under way, co-organiser Rosie Woods said.
She said the group would work to make the next event bigger and better, based on the feedback received from the public this time round. A suggestion to host it twice a year, at both ends of the season, was one of the options being considered for the future.
She said while there was room for improvement, the event had been a great success.
"We definitely got a lot of money in our coffers that we wouldn't normally have."
