Group I winner Pembrook's Delight will have her first race for the season in a heat of the Southern Belle Speed Series at Winton on December 29.

She won the series final there last year before going on to triumph in the Group I $150,000 4-year-old mares' race at the Harness Jewels in Cambridge in June.

Roxburgh trainers Geoff and Jude Knight stepped Pembrook's Delight out at the Winton trials yesterday - her first official outing since the Jewels.

Oamaru reinsman Matthew Williamson drove the mare in a one or more wins mobile. Pembrook's Delight beat two rivals in 3:7.6 (2400m).

''She went nice and is pretty much on target (for Winton),'' Geoff Knight said this morning.

''She's a lot stronger this year and still got the speed.''

Pembrook's Delight will trial again at either Balfour (grass track) on Sunday week or Ascot Park on December 19.
