Christmas morning was like any other at the Ascot Park training tracks.
Trainers worked their teams, with some preparing for the Wingatui meeting tomorrow. Kelly Thompson put six horses through their paces this morning, including his fine jumper Lautenschlager.
The 10-year-old's 13 wins have been on the flat (seven), over hurdles (three) and in steeplechases (three). His jumping victories include two Great Western Hurdles and a Great Western Steeplechase at Riverton.
Lautenschlager's stablemates, Four Gees and Rushinella, have been turned out. Four Gees jarred up when 13th at Gore on Sunday, while Rushinella has filling in a leg.
Ima Gee Gee was an unlucky third at Gore after being held up until the final 150m.
Thompson is taking Schockemohle, Schmeckenbecher and Ima Dude to the Kurow fixture on Sunday.
