Two-year-old Onedin Mach backed up an impressive trial win recently with success at the Ascot Park workouts today.

Trainer-driver Nathan Williamson had a firm hold of Onedin Mach at the finish of a maiden heat, the combination winning by two lengths in 2:56.4 (2200m stand).

Onedin Mach won at the Winton trials on January 9. Williamson intends to start the Mach Three gelding at the Ascot Park workouts on Saturday before entering him for a 2-year-old race at Winton on February 8.

''Everything about him is pretty professional,'' Williamson said.

Windermere Lad signalled he was ready to resume racing when scoring a front-running success in a maiden mobile today. He cut out his last 800m in 56.3.

Owner-trainer Murray Faul said the Live Or Die gelding would race at Wyndham on Sunday.

Workouts at Ascot Park today resulted:

One Or More Wins Mobile, 2200m - Extreme Times (C Barron) 1, Treble Cone 2, Over Glow 3; five started; 3/4l, 1l; 2:51.3, 57.6, 28; winning trainer, A Paisley.

Non Winners' Stand, 2200m - Onedin Mach (N Williamson) 1, Third Avenue 2, Bulgarian Rock 3; six started; 2l, 1 1/4l; 2:56.4, 58.2, 28; winning trainer, N Williamson.
