Wyndham galloping trials

TRAINER: Mac Henry produced former North Island galloper Al Askan to win at the Wyndham trials today. Al Askan ran a fourth and a fifth in two Whangarei Cups and was fourth in the Taumarunui Cup.

Maiden, 800m - Storm Uru 1, Sweet But Neat 2, Polly's Sister 3; six started; 3/4l, 2 1/2l; 50.87, 36.19; winning trainer, S McKay.

Maiden, 1000m - Bechtolshimer 1, Gunna Fly 2, Dana Pascalle 3; six started; 2 1/2l, nk; winning trainer, J Curran.

Open, 1000m - Al Askan 1, Willie Roydon 2, Voodoo Star 3; six started; 2l, 4l; 1:01.55, 36.29; winning trainer, R Henry.
