Ohoka Punter's Victoria Derby win has brought more interest in his sister at the New Zealand Premier Yearling Sale in Christchurch on February 20.
Auckland trainer-driver Tony Herlihy reined Ohoka Punter to a comfortable win in the A$200,000 Derby at Melton on Saturday night. Ohoka owner-breeder Katie Carville was on course for the win, but will now concentrate on the her four yearlings earmarked for the sale.
As well as Ohoka Punter's sister, Millwood Martini (Bettor's Delight-Millwood Minisota), Carville will put Millwood Malibu (f Christian Cullen-Millwood Krystal), Millwood Brandy (f Bettor's Delight-Millwood Touche) and Ohoka Hall (c Angus Hall-Landoras Special) through the sale ring.
Carville is pleased with the foals produced by Ohoka Punter's dam, Millwood Minisota.
''She's leaving a nice cut of a horse.''
The broodmare, in foal to Bettor's Delight, is also the dam of a filly foal by the same sire and a 2-year-old filly by McArdle.
Carville is breeding from eight broodmares.
