The Forbury Park Trotting Club is organising a syndicate to race four-win mare Addies Girl at its race meetings during the autumn and winter.

The syndicate will lease Addies Girl until September 1 when she will return to Makarewa owner-trainer Tony Barron for breeding. He hoped to have Addies Girl in foal this season, but she missed to Bettor's Delight. Papakura horseman Tony Herlihy trained the McArdle mare for two wins at Alexandra Park, including a 1700m victory in a mile rate of 1min 57.1sec. Her last start was in August.

She is in training with Westwood Beach trainers Graeme Anderson and Amber Hoffman. Club president Peter Gillespie said yesterday the syndicate was made up of 40 shares and each shareholder was required to make a one-off payment of $250.

''It should work well, it's a good way to get people to the races.''

Meanwhile, the Anderson and Hoffman-trained Eddie Boy has been operated on for an oversize palate.

The complaint surfaced after his third at Forbury Park on March 7.

''He pulled up breathing terrible,'' Hoffman said.

''He did really well to get third under the circumstances.''
