Auckland greyhound Quaddie punters will be hoping Bright Star breaks the national record for the most consecutive totalisator wins at the Manukau Stadium on Sunday.

The Bob Bond-trained canine cash machine is tied with Little Mother, Dangle The Carat and Matanuska on 14 totalisator wins in a row.

If Bright Star wins on Sunday, the TAB will add an additional $10,000 to the already announced $5,000 Auckland bonus Quaddie, taking the pool to $15,000.

Bright Star has been allocated the tricky squeeze five trap to exit from on Sunday. However, as seen by her sizzling wins, it is her electric starting ability that sets up her wins.

So, how is Bright Star as she heads into her most publicised race?

''She is as good as ever,'' Bond, of Cambridge, said.

''I have always said that it comes down to the track conditions. They can't pick her up if the track is fast. It is on the slower tracks where the bigger dogs have picked her up.

''I feel there is more pressure on me than Star (kennel name), but I've had a heck of a lot of fun getting this far.''
