John Dunn, who has not previously driven in Australia, will continue his association with Franco Nelson in the $400,000 Hunter Cup at Melton on Saturday night.

Dunn, who has driven the winners of 583 races, has been in great form this season with 50 wins. He is closely involved with the Woodend beach training establishment of his father, Robert. They teamed to win the Pelorus Classic at Blenheim with Franco Nelson this month.

Franco Nelson travelled by road to Auckland on Monday and he was due to fly to Melbourne last night. He will be joined by his stablemate Elios next month. Elios has a race in Christchurch on February 15.

Anthony Butt, who has won the Hunter Cup seven times, will be out to repeat his win of last year with Mah Sish. The gelding won the Pure Steel at Ballarat on Saturday night. Mah Sish has drawn one.
