Major Moment sold to Australia
Major Moment is scratched at Wyndham on Sunday after being sold to Australian clients of Auckland bloodstock agent Garrick Knight.
North Canterbury trainer Phil Burrows prepared the Art Major gelding (four wins) for Small Car World Ltd. Major Moment is the fifth foal out of Great Northern Oaks winner English Elegance.
Meanwhile, Burrows hopes to qualify Free Falling for the Group II Southern Supremacy Stakes at Ascot Park on March 30.
Unraced Free Falling won a qualifying trial by two and a-quarter lengths in 3:0.4 (2400m mobile) at Ashburton on October 22. His only other public outings have resulted in a win and a second, beaten a nose, at workouts.
He has had a blood disorder and could return to workouts next week.
``There's a bit of ability there for sure,'' Burrows said today.
The Falcon Seelster colt is out of Nemesis Choice (five wins), who raced only as a 3-year-old and ran second in the Southland Oaks Final in 2000.
Another promising horse in Burrows' stable is Courtney John, a 2-year-old McArdle filly out of Cassie's Medley. By Badlands Hanover, Cassie's Medley has also left Seven Point One (five wins).
Cassie's Medley is a sister or half-sister to 12 winners.
