Bond in hospital after serious race fall

Mataura driver Jim Bond remains in Southland Hospital tonight after a race fall at Wyndham yesterday.

Bond, driving Aye One, was tipped from the sulky at the start of race three. Bond hit the ground heavily and was struck by a following runner.

Bond has three broken ribs, a broke left collarbone, a broken cheek bone, a broken bone in his pelvis and a bruised lung. 

Wife Colleen said from the hospital tonight that her husband was still on oxygen.
