Former Auckland race caller Alby Gain is a part-owner of No Doctor Needed, a starter in Sunday's Southern Supremacy Stakes at Ascot Park.

No Doctor Needed, trained at Woodend Beach by Robert Dunn, picked up a penalty-free win against C1 opposition at Ascot Park on Saturday. He has won two of three starts and finished second in the other.

With him being a 3-year-old, every alternate win is penalty-free. All of his racing has been done in Southland.

Invercargill-owned mare Arancia is in work with Leithfield Beach trainer Robbie Holmes. Arancia won four races for Invercargill trainer and part-owner Owen Lawrence and with the new handicapping system, she is now assessed at C1.

``Robbie's had her a month . . . she had a two-month spell before going up,'' Lawrence said.
