Orcon internet outage compo
Orcon says customers affected by a long internet outage over the weekend may be offered compensation on a "case by case" basis.
Spokesman Quentin Reade said 240 businesses and residential internet users were affected by the hardware failure, which left them without access to the internet between about noon on Saturday and 10pm on Sunday.
Although the fault was localised and affected only customers on "unbundled" lines, it was long by industry standards.
Reade said the long weekend made it harder to get the faulty equipment replaced.
Orcon would not proactively offer compensation, but customers who felt they had suffered could call the company and discuss that, he said.
