William Shatner has started his own social media website, tinged with a healthy dose of science fiction.

On Shatner's MyOuterSpace.com, new users register for the "planet" that best suits them.

For example, graphic designers would sign up to planet Anteros, while musicians would sign up to planet Orpheus. There are six planets to choose from.

There are also six starships, each specialising in a different artistic talent. Each serves as a virtual production company creating a work for film, stage or animation.
