Telecom experiences broadband outage
Telecom believes it has fixed a hardware failure that prevented about 40,000 customers accessing the internet this morning.
The fault, which occurred shortly before 9am, affected broadband customers just north of Auckland and in some northern suburbs of the city.
Spokeswoman Lucy Fullarton said at 12.30pm that Telecom believed it had fixed the problem. If customers were still having difficulties they should try turning their modem off and on again.
“We realise how frustrating it is for customers and so do apologise to those affected,” she said.
