The New Zealand pair of Phil Bennett and Geoff Wilson were given a lesson in the first round of the World indoor bowls pairs in Norfolk, England.
Eighth seeds Richard Morgan of Wales and Les Gillett of England beat the New Zealanders 10-1, 11-3.
Bennett and Wilson will be hoping for better results when they play their first round World indoor singles matches later in the week.
Results: Hirendra Bhartu and Fred Fong (CAN) beat Grant Summers and Frank Souza (USA) 11-0, 7-3; Ian McClure and Gary McCloy (IRE) beat Itzek Sher and Israel Meushar (ISR) 12-1, 10-2.
1st round: Brett Wilkie and Mark Casey (AUS) beat Greg Harlow and Nick Brett (ENG) 6-4, 8-6; Richard Morgan (WAL) and Les Gillett (ENG) beat Phil Bennett and Geoff Wilson (NZL) 10-1, 11-3.
