Brushing up on the bare essentials for V8 show

V8 punters slammed on the anchors and made a quick pit stop as they caught sight of a naked female model in a Hamilton shop window on Saturday night.
Auckland model Colleen Davis, 24, wore nothing but a subtle smile as she quickly caught the eye of race fans heading home from the day's Hamilton 400 event.
You could almost smell the burning shoe rubber as dumbstruck passersby quickly crowded around the brightly-lit window to watch artist Sandra Rodgers sketch Miss Davis in various poses.
"That must be a bloody first for Hamilton," said one young male as he clambered for a better view.
The public show of flesh was designed to attract attention to Aesthete Gallery's motorsport inspired exhibition Curves.
It worked.
Within 20 minutes a crowd of about 30 people, mostly male, had gathered around the free show on the corner of Victoria and London Sts.
Both Miss Davis and Ms Rodgers admitted they were nervous.
"Drawing a body is like a performance, you have to be focused," Ms Rodgers said.
"When you're working on your own, you can completely focus on the model, but in this situation you're conscious of people staring."
Gallery director Elizabeth Cunnane said it was the first time the gallery had used a nude model to promote an exhibition.
Ms Cunnane said having a nude model was a playful and slightly provocative way of getting people's attention.
Talking a break from getting race fans excited, Miss Davis said it was great to see people's reaction.
"I find it quite interesting, especially how the artist is being watched."
Miss Davis said she modelled naked for various art groups in Auckland and travelled to Hamilton that day.
"This was pretty scary, but it probably makes art look a bit more sexy."
