Coast to Coast legend Steve Gurney has been injured after being hit by a car while cycling in Christchurch, according to a media report.
The nine-times endurance winner was out biking in the city Wednesday at 5.30pm when the accident happened, Newstalk ZB reported today.
Gurney was sent head-first through the vehicle's window in the collision with the vehicle outside a Woolworths supermarket on Ferry Rd.
Coast to Coast organiser Robin Judkins has confirmed Gurney was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night, but was later discharged.
