All Black Daniel Carter and his wife Honor are expecting their first child, and they broke the happy news to their thousands of followers on Twitter.
Via Honor's Twitter account, they said "@HonourCarter is 21 weeks pregnant! We are both very excited about being parents."
They hashtagged the post #BabyCarter and then Daniel retweeted it saying "Though it was time to share our exciting news..."
Following their announcement, Prime Minister John Key tweeted his best wishes.
"@DanCarter @HonorCarter - Congratulations to you both - fantastic news! #BabyCarter," he said.
Carter married Dillon, a former New Zealand Blackstick, in a secret ceremony on December 9, last year.
The Timara Lodge nuptials in Marlborough were shrouded in secrecy as the pair had sold the official rights to their wedding coverage to a woman's magazine.
Between them, the pair have nearly 120,000 followers on Twitter.
Carter is currently in England touring with the All Blacks on their European tour, but is out with an achilles injury.
