Breakers guard Corey Webster will miss the two game road-trip to Townsville and Cairns this week with a back injury.

The injury kept him sidelined for the Breakers' last second win against the Sydney Kings on Friday and he has not recovered in time for the Sunshine Swing.

Webster will be replaced in the travelling team by development player Reuben Te Rangi, who is yet to take the court for the two-time defending champions.

Fellow development player Josh Bloxham is still out of action with a high left ankle sprain.

The Breakers take on the winless Townsville Crocodiles on Friday night before facing the Cairns Taipans on Saturday night. Tip-off for both games is 9.30pm (NZ Time).

Opinion poll

How do you expect the Breakers to perform in this season's Australian NBL?

Last season was a blip, they'll be champions once again

They'll go close to another title, beaten finalists I'd say

Playoffs for sure, but can't see them going any further

Not too excited, they'll miss the playoffs again
