Kiwi superyacht builders Yachting Developments have completed a luxury 27m sports fisher to access untapped fishing grounds around the globe.
The 90ft Satu has been launched in Auckland this week, and will do its sea trials here before being shipped to the United States. There, it will be exhibited by Satu Marine at this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The vessel is designed and equipped to be self-sufficient for several months at a time.
Designed by Ullberg Yacht Design, in Florida, Satu's hull was built in Auckland by VMYNZ, then moved to Yachting Developments at Hobsonville Point for a comprehensive fit-out and completion to superyacht standard. The interior finish is timber, mostly Japanese Ash.
The boat is powered by twin 2,400hp MTU diesel engines, driving through fixed 6 blade bronze propellers housed in tunnels. It has a top speed of 33 knots.
