Valerie Adams has recorded her 52nd straight win in world athletics this morning.

Adams threw 20.42m at an annual international meet in Lucerne, Switzerland, to take victory over Russia's Yevgeniya Kolodko by almost a metre-and-a-half.

Kolodko could only manage a disappointing 19.08m while Trinidad and Tobago's Cleopatra Borel was third with 18.72m.

Adams was due to compete again in Monaco on Saturday where she had a chance to wrap up another Diamond League series title before heading on to the Commonwealth Games.
