A perfectly-paced unbeaten century to Perth-born interloper Dean Brownlie set up New Zealand A for a crushing 138-run one-day cricket victory over the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Brisbane today.

New Zealand avenged a comprehensive eight wicket loss to the hosts in the Twenty20 component of the four-nation Emerging Players tournament last week with a impressive all round performance highlighted by Brownlie's run-a-ball 116 and penetrating bowling from left arm spinner Nick Beard and Otago teammate, medium pacer Bradley Scott.

Asked to bat first on Albury Oval, New Zealand amassed an imposing 296 for four from their 40 overs.

In reply, the AIS never threatened to match an asking rate of 7.4 runs per over and fizzled out on 158 in the 33rd over as Beard (5-31) and Scott (4-40) ensured an early finish.

Brownlie, a former Western Australia age group representative who made his first class debut for Canterbury last season, continued his excellent form on tour by adding a ton to previous knocks worth 55, 21 and 56 in the T20 format.

New Zealand's score was padded out with handy contributions by Jamie How, 60, Colin de Grandhomme with 31 from just 10 balls, Shanan Stewart with 38 from 21 and Brendon Diamanti who clubbed 41 from a dozen balls.

Brent Arnel initially kept runs at a premium with the new ball before Scott started the slide with two wickets in his second over.

Beard then removed AIS opener Nicolas Maddinson who scored 71 from 64 balls - before running through the tail.

New Zealand's next match is against India A on Monday before they play South Africa A on Wednesday.
