One-handed catch earns fame, fortune
Andrew McCulloch is $5000 richer and now world famous after his remarkable one-handed catch at a New Zealand Twenty20 cricket match.
A bare-footed McCulloch slid down the bank at Hamilton's Seddon Park to hold the catch off Otago Volts' batsman Michael Bracewell. And with it came the spoils from a Northern Knights promotion for anyone who could catch a six with one hand.
McCulloch said he would use the winnings to pay off credit card debts after being overseas for six months with his partner – who just happens to be the sister of Bracewell.
The video of the catch has gone viral online, showing on major sports websites around the world.
