New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor's much-awaited new arrival came into the world early this morning.

Taylor's wife Victoria gave birth to their second child, Jonty Luteru Taylor, at Hamilton's Waikato Hospital.

"Jonty Luteru Taylor born 16 Feb 3.06am. Mum and Jonty doing well," he tweeted.

The Taylors already have a daughter, Mackenzie.

Taylor missed the second test against India in Wellington to be present at the birth. His next cricketing assignment will be the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh, starting midway through next month.
