The annual NZ Fishing News readers' trip to fish the NZFN Vava'u International in Tonga is almost full.

Tournament director Mark Airey says there are just four places left in the 28-angler trip to fish the waters around Vava'u, Tonga.

"If you're sick and tired of the cold and wet, come and get a week's relief in sunny Tonga and recharge the batteries heading into summer," Mark says.

The trip encompasses Labour Weekend, leaving on October 18 and returning on October 25. The price is $3500 and includes return international (ex-Auckland) and domestic (Tongatapu-Vava'u) airfares, accommodation on a share-twin basis, four days of quarter-share fishing aboard four different charter boats, all breakfasts and contest day lunches and most evening meals, along with the tournament entry.

"Ideally we would like a team of four to take up the last space, but we can also endeavour to fit in smaller numbers of anglers to make up a composite crew."

"You don't have to be an experienced angler to participate. Over the years many of our anglers have caught their first marlin or gamefish on these trips."

Partners are welcome, and there is a special price for them enabling full participation in the trip, with the exception of the fishing.
