Diego Maraotter is asking for trouble with his (bigger) rellies.

After correctly picking four out of five matches in our football World Cup competition, Thomas Mueller's hat-trick ensuring Germany buried Portugal this morning, he appears not to have learnt from his only loss to date (Brazil vs Croatia).

He's thumbing his cute little nose at the hosts for a second time, picking Mexico to triumph tomorrow.

Maraotter said it was likely to make his cousins, the fearsome giant river otter, quite tetchy.

"I know, pound for pound, they've got it on me but I'm not too worried.

"They are too busy taking down caimans to be distracted by my smaller, yet perfectly formed, figure."

His competition, football writers Sam Worthington and Tony Smith, weren't so sure.

Worthington said the giant otters were known as the "river wolf" and Maraotter's confidence would be his undoing.
