Former All Whites and Wellington Phoenix winger Leo Bertos has reportedly signed a two-year deal to play for Indian club East Bengal.

The Times of India reported that the 32-year-old would be the I-League club's marquee player for the 2014-15 season.

Bertos has played 56 games for New Zealand but wasn't selected by interim coach Neil Emblen this year as he opted for younger talent.

Bertos was released by the Phoenix after an injury-plagued 2013-14 A-League season.

He made his debut for the Futsal Whites in this month's three-test series against Australia.

East Bengal are based in Kolkata and are one of India's most successful clubs, finishing second in the 2013-14 I-League.
