This is a goal that would better suit a rugby match than a football game - Carlos Lobaton's long-range effort needs to be seen to be believed.

The 70m strike came in the Peruvian Primera Division between Lobaton's Sporting Cristal and rival Juan Arich.

With nothing much on as he counter-attacked, Lobaton suddenly spotted the goalkeeper well off his line and let rip with a precision strike that left the Juan Arich team embarrassed and the Sporting Cristal fans delirious in the stands.

Oh, and in true South American style, the commentator's gooooooaaaaal announcement is almost as long as the kick itself.
